Once the horses were "broken" (trained to respond to the driver's commands) they were transferred to the Hawkinsville Harness Training Facility. Here they learned about the job of racing, and where Jerry's patience changed stubbornness into competiveness. And so goes the field of Harness Racing.
Jerry and Sally "retired" (at a young age) to an old dairy farm in middle Georgia to pursue a dream of a race horse farm. Beginning with the foundation filly, Vision of Grandeur, the racing stable grew to include her son Savage Grandeur (out of Radiant Ruler), Teddy's Grandeur, Timeless Grandeur, Classic Grandeur, Moment of Grandeur, Juliana Grandeur (named after Sally's mother), America's Grandeur, Nature's Grandeur, Spirit of Grandeur, Sweetheart Grandeur and Que Sera Grandeur. Do you see the pattern here? The photo below is one of Que Sera's wins, and the only one for which Sally was present in the winner's circle photo (above).
With the help of Sally's three children, they cleared the land, put in fences, built barns and a really unique A-Frame home.
Now surrounded by gardens, pond, and pecan trees, this farm invites you to rest in a country atmosphere (children and pets welcome).
